Practicals after failing?

If a student is studying towards a national diploma in civil engineering at a university of technology, and has to repeat a third year subject in the fourth year, and continues to do his practicals during the fourth year, will the student get credit for the practicals that they completed during that fourth year?

As far as I'm aware it's quite flexible in that regard so the student should be ok but I suggest you consult with the faculty staff.
