Hi friends

So I'm a lvl 57 <insert class that everyone hates here> and I'm stuck in a bit of a predicament...

According to my own experience and the general feeling of my guild, getting Warsong Gulch badges is the pits. Apparently at lvl 70 it becomes damn near impossible to beat the horde.

What i'd like to know is this:

Do I just focus on BG's while im still below lvl 60 and pretty much one of the higher players in the BG - making it easier to get badges - or do I quest and push for lvl 70 ... then worry about getting badges? Apparently getting AV and AB badges isnt so difficult, so I haven't put much time into it...

I have about 30 Arathi Basin badges,
a lousy 3 AV badges,
and 56 WSG badges. (10 of which i got last night)

With the new gear changes and whatnot ... how many badges of each would you recommend I get before hitting 70? Ideally one would like 100 of each, but realistically I'd like to know what is a safe amount in order to get the required gear.

I'm on about 6000 honour points now - but that builds up with each BG at about 500/night.

How does the whole badges thing work... do you require different badges for different gear or a collection of all 3 badges + honour points for each type of gear?

Your a warlock  ?

Arena season gear that costs honor points is the same as normal honor gear,

<Insert welfare epic weapon here> costs say: 27000 honor and 40 AV badges
while,
<Insert welfare epic gloves here> costs say: 18000 honor and 30 EOTS badges

Firstly if you are winning all your WSG games and other BG games get to 59 and stay at this mark till you have 100 of each BG badge. Get to 70 and start spending it. If you can get into a decent PVP team you will at 70 win just as much BG's. Problem at lower than level 70 is that you only get a percentage of the honor, so is it really worth it?

I'm not too bothered with the other BG's ... but WSG has proven to be quite the bastage. As a rogue, it is a fair bit easier, but the gap between a lvl 50 rogue and 59 is soooo much smaller than a 60 - 69.

I think I'll spend my days collecting WSG badges up to 100 for now. I'm 1/2 level away from hitting outlands though, so it's a bit off a toss up. Perhaps I should just do outlands until lvl 59 - then BG it until I get +/-100 badges.

The other 3 BGs' badges i'll pick up as I go along...

trust me, with the amount of honour required to buy stuff, the number of tokens is hardly an issue. You'll be doing BG's for honour until it's coming out of your nose. Don't worry too much about farming tokens now. About the only reason I'd advocate doing BG's before level 70 is to avoid the vast gear disparity that will happen. If you don't like being smashed to pieces (less of an issue with a rogue, lol Cloak+Vanish) at every turn, consider 'parking off' at 59 and farming the harder to acquire badges ala Warsong (AB, AV and EoTS are easy enough to gain at a decent rate, it's just Warsong tokens that are a pain thanks to hour-long stalemates, (Camp Moar, Alliance! /sigh))

Thanks man :)

My rogue's sitting on 59 WSG badges now @ lvl 57. I reckon I should carry on and push for outlands. Last night's WSG we EVENTUALLY won after having a decade long stale mate. I'll pick up some more when I'm lvl 59 or so.

I was going to say a huntard...

Planning on doing BG's for my Rogue as well for lvl 60 and then use that to lvl from there to 70 :p

Will see when I get there though...still on lvl 20 :o

Unfortunately WSG is still fundamentally broken for this very reason.

The debuff increasing flag carrier damage taken hasn't done much to shorten the pain that is WSG.

It's pretty useless IMHO since the right way I've found to play WSG is to have a dedicated healer on the FC anyway.

The way I've found to work best is to take a BF2 commander style approach to things. i.e. tell okes what to do from the get-go in order to minimize chaos.

2-3 okes on defense (hunter+rogue) ... the rest all gang up in the middle as a group behind one of the huge tree stumps. All storm the flag at once and during the battle a pre-determined FC grabs it running out the top right - with a healer on his tail.

Everyone follows but 1 rogue/druid stays behind. As soon as the flag's capped, the rogue/druid steals the 2nd flag since its relatively unguarded (due to everyone chasing after the already stolen flag)

For 70% of my WSG matches this has worked fine and within 5-10mins we normally have 2 flags already ... then the crappy horde sit and camp their flag - with no attacks. This stretches a 15min game out to a 45min marathon :/ Hardly making the badges worth the effort.

The worst part is, the alliance okes get fed up and leave the BG ... the horde normally wait it out until enough players left for them to be in the vast majority...thereby ending up winning it.

Stupid horde.
