Hi guys wondered if you could give me some advice. I recently purchased a Pre-built pc from a supposedly reputable online retailer. I received it about a week back and have only checked the specs today.(I know bad decision on my part).

I noticed that the wrong GPU was installed stock EVGA GTX 670 instead of the EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition as per their advertised specs. Digging deeper I've also noticed that the ram is rated at 800Mhz instead of 1600Mhz.

What should I do? I've had the pc for a week as stated. Should I send it back and wait for them to replace the parts with the correct Items or just ask for refund for the difference of the cheaper items they installed.

DDR RAM is always rated at double its clock speed - DDR = Double Data Rate. So, a frequency of 800mhz is correct for DDR3 1600mhz RAM.

Just make sure your RAM isnt underclocked in the bios. The VGA card is a definite problem. Phone them and tell them that they put the wrong card in, and they need to fix the problem immediately to avoid you taking it further. They should have kept records of the card serial number which would prove your statement.

Maybe it was an honest mistake. First contact them and tell them to rectify it, at their own cost. If they don't respond or refuse to rectify the error, then name and shame.
