Pre-installed apps pose a big security threat to Android users - Study

Security firm Kryptowire claims that it has uncovered 146 vulnerabilities in pre-installed Android apps across 29 different vendors.

"To quantify the exposure of the Android end-users to vulnerabilities residing within pre-installed apps and firmware, we analyzed a wide range of Android vendors and carriers using devices spanning from low-end to flagship," said Kryptowire.
 
About time we were allowed to uninstall whatever non critical apps we want.
Similar to any half decent o/s that is built in a modular non bloatware design.

We not all half/dim wits when it comes to software configuration.

You can, if you're running on pure android or close to it.
 
I'm referring to stock std off the shelf, non rooted phones.
Yes, my Nokia had no bloatware, even the Huawei my wife got was pretty clean. It seems it's Samsung who like to fill their phones with junk.

I'm really referring mainly to non essential/core bloatware like FB, certain Huawei services and apps (video for example)...

Will this give the option to not allow running mtn crap from their sim cards?
