Pre MBB Gaming Club Thread

Hi

I have been thinking of getting a MBB Gaming Club going, I am just sorting out the logistics of trading out with bwana and fellow mods.
He suggested that we start the thread, but I want to get some feedback from you guys first regarding the first meet.

I have been thinking that we can arrange a Meet and as a show of solidarity, maybe have a multi-console Meet.
Yes, that means PS3 and Xbox in the same room at the same time!

This will give the 360 owners the chance to experience LBP and those other gems that the PS3 owners are raving about and the PS3 owners to experience Gears of War 2 and the other gems that the Xbox360 owners are raving about.

I should be able to secure a venue with HD screens so that we can experience the games in the glory they are meant to.

However, since the venue does not have PS3’s, I was wondering if the PS3 owners will bring their systems and games.

What say you, the future members of the MBB Gaming Club?

Sounds cool, but i assume it's exclusivley for Cape Tonians. :(
 
I think it is quite a cool idea and I can then see what LBP is all about and Valante can see what Fable 2 is all about! :p

Well, if the venue is connected to the net, we can always play online, chat via PSEye and then i can check out proceedings over there. Maybe all the Gauties can link up online, via either LIVE or PSN and if you have a cam, we can check out how jealous the 360 guys get when finally playing those PS3 exclusives. :D

I have to go and chat to the guys with the venue to see if they are online et al...thanks for the feedback, it is a pretty cool idea actually!

Please guys, feedback is important here, the more you post and get involved here we can get this thread going and who knows...maybe if there is enough interest...I can get some MBB gear!!! :p
 
Something else...this is a bit of a contentious subject...should the MBb Gaming Club be exclusive i.e. all posters of 100 posts or more only?
 
I think it would make sense for the regulars here to be able to come. If it's free, every Tom, Dick and Harry may pitch if they hear about the event, so maybe on an invite-only basis?
 
Yo Kage, this sounds promising, pity its in CPT though bit far away, if it ends being a biggish event and alot of us attend, it could be worth a 2-3 day trip down to CPT.

Game club would include computers as well, but since its not taken into consideration i think you should include the word console in the title.

Unless u plan on including pc's.

I did think about this - this is why this thread is created first...i need as much info/feedback from you guys to see what the feeling is out there.

I am in 2 minds with the PC gaming thing...on the one side I want to include it as it allows for a much broader spectrum of games but on the other I feel that it will be overkill.

What do you guys think?

I am asuming that you are a PC gamer right?
The PC gaming LAN is huge and the venue I am looking at is completely set up with high-speed systems etc etc etc so they can handle it...
Would you benefit from this club?

Im a PC gamer through and through, owned an Xbox360 for some time, but never got the enjoyment i got from a PC unfortunately. So i sold it.

Is the lan based in CPT, i would attend, as long as there are minimal numbers of kiddies, and i dont really play dota or CS.
 
Good on you kage for the effort. Indeed an excellent idea, and the hook via LIVE/PSN will in a way help with the "i cant fly to CT" drama :D

are we just gonna be show casing or will we compete as well?? it would be admittdly fun/embarrasing to see a xboxer take down sonyboi in eye of judgement or visa versa in GOW2...maybe we can even do trophies (no pun intended)

Well it will be a given that a..droid vs bot battle will be happening on the games:
COD4/5 bots vs droids etc.
The best ones will be things like a bot with LBP and a droid on gears etc.
The racing fans need to help with titles here.

Pretty solid ideas there for prizes and stuff thanks IF. :D
I have a couple of ideas running at the moment and need to go and see what I can organise for prizes and stuff.
