Pre-Paid Data Bundle expires after 30 days???

Is it me or is Vodacom running a great scam?

I recently went over to pre-paid data bundles (for the 3G card). On the vodacom4me site it states that my data bundle expires? In all honesty, that isn't very logical to me...I confirmed the fact with a Vodacom consultant and according to him, it expires after 30 days from the date of purchase.

I purchased 1Gig of data with the perception that it will last a while...was I wrong! Is anyone else thinking this is ridiculous?

We don't like it, but there's nothing we can do about it.

Virgin airtime doesn't expire, but it costs 60c/Mb for any sized recharge. MTN is the same as Vodacom, except you can't buy another bundle if you use it up before 30 days is up, which is more trouble for mobile data users.

Telkom may be a better bet. Their data also expires, but at least it's cheaper and you get an extra wack of local data on the bundle once the main one expires.

Just like ADSL bandwidth 3G data bundles expire. Blame Telkom, DoC etc.

Yes, you are wrong - Vodacom's PPDBs have always been valid for 30 days and no more than that.
