If I was vodacom within the iburst/voda aliance :

1. degrade the service
2. offer a 'we'll swop yer iburst modem for a 3g device'
3. put gsm/3g/hdspa processing equipment on all those iburst towers
4. wipe the iburst idea off the face of the southern tip

That is what vodacom is doing to iburst atm... I mean to advertise that iburst is a dial-up replace is simply a slap in the face of iburst although the speed that some people are seeing on iburst simply confirms that iburst is a replacement to the dialup and not a broadband!

This is standard practice of Vodacom...they see iBurst as competition and they're are either going to try and own it or try and stifle it and get people to migrate to 3G/HSDPA, which they can forget because their network is more unstable presently than iBurst. Imagine that, your internet goes off every Friday afternoon because everyone is using their cellphones and so it crashes.
