I recently discovered that the American Netflix has a lot more content like the newest Avengers movie.
I know that a vpn is the only way to go if I want to access that content. The problem is that all the VPN's I have tried are simply just to slow. I have tried protonVPN and Opera's built-in VPN but when I set it to America it doesn't change, my location is still set to South Africa.
So I'm hoping that someone has a VPN that is working and doesn't impact speed and is preferably free.

Thanks in Advance

EDIT: I'm on 20/20 fibre

Pay for a Smart DNS service.

It's worth the $4.

Strange worked just two months ago...

https://mybroadband.co.za/news/broa...-you-to-watch-netflix-us-in-south-africa.html

MyBroadband tested the VPN’s functionality by simply downloading the browser, enabling the VPN by selecting the Americas region, and logging in to Netflix with an existing account.

Immediately, we discovered we could access content which was not present on the South African version of the streaming service, while our favourites list and show progress was saved regardless of region.

Does it impact Download Speed?

I'll try that
Smart dns services only route the relevant parts of the relevant services, all other traffic remains unaffected.

Opera VPN : Trying searching for White Collar, if the first entry is Suits , then you're not in the Americas. If it's White Collar, then you have the American list

Btw... where do you see location being South Africa ? Remember , Opera only changes your browser location, not your locale

Netflix actively works to prevent users from getting access to content that they're not licenced to. So a VPN that worked a few months ago might well not work now.

Also - if your VPN is slow your problem is you're a cheapskate. Just about any service that you pay for performs pretty well.

If I go to speedtest.com its still my original IP and if I go to sites like mylocation.org or mycurrentlocation.net its still shows my exact location.

You're probably right

Means it's not enabled. Just changing the location doesn't enable it. You have to click on the button in the address bar.

For some reason it's disabled for the sites you're visiting. Make sure "Bypass VPN for default search engines" isn't selected.

I turned it off and it still doesn't work, I restarted my computer after changing the setting hoping it would work.

Mine says I'm either in the Westen Cape or in Switzerland .. Forget about that... did you do the Netflix test as I suggested ?
Yeah I tried it, in the attached photo you can see the vpn is on and set to America and shows Suits
