Did she learn from Mugabe?
.....and they want us to vote for this Party?
Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane splurged more than R2-million of taxpayers' money refurbishing her government house in the posh northern Johannesburg suburb of Bryanston.
Mokonyane spent money from the budget of the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development at expensive shops.
Her furniture came from Bakos Brothers, the renovation of her main bedroom and en-suite bathroom was done by the Home Decor company, and her kitchen, laundry and walk-in wardrobes were spruced up by the Katanga and Delawood companies.
Her curtains and bedding came from Elna Curtains - but workers from the department painted her inside walls.
This was revealed by the MEC for infrastructure development, Faith Mazibuko, in response to a question from DA MPL Jack Bloom.
The refurbishment of the house was "requested" by the premier in September last year and completed in January.
Bloom said: "It's a poor example when waste and extravagance were supposed to be cut in all provincial departments."
