Why is it that I am disconnected every 10 - 20 minutes with a status on the PCombo Cable disconnected This is now going on for since I got the modem.
After I am disconnected it takes +- 20 minutes to connect again.
I have phoned Telkom every day for the last 3 weeks. They can not give me an answer - will monitor etc etc.
Once I am connected the I have to disable the firewall on the modem othewise I am unable to get into my trading site.
Please help
Nico

The Premium combo is the new telcom modem. I got it with my ADSL.

I don't know that device, but does its sync light go off when this happens?

The Telkom ADSL status stays "connected" but the modem's Status is " cable disconnected" the lights on the modem flikkers until the connection is reestablished. This happened since I posted my original message. 10 min ago

Sounds like it is losing sync and the flukkering lights are the device trying to re-sync. Normally dropping sync is an indication of a line fault. You need to log it with Telkom, get a fault reference ( VERY important ) and then follow the fault up regularly. If you do not get a fault ref, NOTHING will happen from Telkom's side. Insist on one even if they do their "online test" and tell you that the line is working fine.

If you have any filters/phones connected try yanking those out too and see if it helps.
