Hi everyone

I'm hoping someone here can help me with this.

So I've got a prepaid electricity at home. The unit is plugged in almost all the time in the kitchen. Last week I installed a new light fitting in the kitchen. It's one of those florescent light fittings without a starter so as soon as I flick the switch the light comes on. One of these http://www.lightingwarehouse.co.za/products/indoor/6399.html

Anyway, the light works fine and everything but I noticed that a few minutes after I switch on the light, the prepaid meter displays an error. I checked that the error means and the manual says something about interference from other devices/appliances etc. I made sure that the wiring is correct in the light fitting and that it is earthed properly. Could it be that the new light fitting is causing this interference? I never had it with the old fitting and I've isolated it the issue to the new fitting.

Any advice, comments, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've had the same with one of my PC Screens,UPS inbetween sorted that issue out but for a light fixture I dunno

But yes,it's entirely possible the light's interfering

Lol, funny I have the same problem with my PC power supply. I have to hibernate to check Units or reload.

I was hoping a surge protected plug might help, but haven't tried yet.

But ye, is it really that bigger issue? The light is not on 24/7 I'd think?

Try finding an inline surge protector or just jimmy one up, I have a feeling that will sort it out.

It's not much of an issue, more of an annoyance. And you're right. The light isn't on for that long anyway.
