I want to find a way to show (roughly) how many prepaid units are left in Home Assistant. I've tried SSOCR but can't get it to work.

The next solution I'm looking at is using "Daily Load Energy" from my inverter which has a kWh value.

I plan to enter the amount of units when I top up, then use "Daily Load Energy" to reduce the unit value. But not really sure how to do this? Any ideas would be appreciated!

I do it this way as well. Its not a 100% accurate. But it does help keeping an eye on units left.

Thanks, I can't get my old ass meter to beep when the units are low, keeps changing over to battery, so anything will help!

Scoobs version doesn't survive a reboot ( see the comments section ). You need to input your meter units every time you reboot

KellerZA has another option that does survive a reboot. Details can be found here : https://powerforum.co.za/topic/6648-home-assistant-eskom-prepaid/#comment-116900
I implemented this a few months ago, but recall finding a rather simple solution... honestly can't remember the specifics but involved deleting the "initial: xxx" value that was in Scoob's yaml code. For e.g. if your initial value was 700 units, ran it for a few days, then rebooted, it would default back to 700. When I deleted this line, it retained the last value and has persisted after subsequent reboots. Don't judge me, but I posted my yaml to chatGPT and asked it to suggest a fix for me. Ymmv.
