I'm an expat coming to visit SA next week.

Just got an iPhone 5S and want to know which is the best network to get a nano prepaid sim card from?

I mainly use it for Whatsapp and receiving calls, sending sms, so I'm looking for something with cheap data bundles up to 100MB.

Already have a prepaid micro sim that was cut from a mini sim for my iPhone 4S.

Thanks :)

if you're going to be travelling you'll probably be better off with a Vodacom nano sim starter pack... remember you have to RICA the sim before it will work... i.e. when you buy the starter pack you will have to present your id / passport and proof of address.

Once activated you can load some airtime and buy data bundles... 100Mb will cost around R79 ...

Otherwise CellC is not to bad either.. cheaper data... not such great coverage in the sticks.

Ya, but he'll roam on Vodacom so its not that bad an issue

This! In fact you could just force your phone to roam on Vodacom the entire time. The only downside is that I've never seen 3G work on Vodacom.

(I use Cell C but roam at work - Old Mutual HQ in CT has terrible Cell C reception)
