Anyone using Neotel prepaid voice product ?

If you are is there monthly fee involved or is it free ?

Really keen to purchase this product but sceptical when it comes down to putting money upfront for hardware.

Does one have to make regular calls/receive calls to have the service active.

RichardG,

Been using is for couple of years, since prepaid on Neotel was launched. The fact that you now get a RUIM (CDMA version if a SIM) as well means in theory you can use any CDMA phone - just like GSM cousins. I usually load R200 (the max) once a year and use it to phone mainly overseas as Neotel rates are very low. I have heard of cases where airtime expires prematurely, but have not experienced it myself, despite not recharging regularly. Have also heard of cases where when airtime expires prematurely, and the moment you load new airtime, the old airtime "returns" - so nothing disappears! Obviously, when old airtime reaches expiry date, it does expire!
