Journalists seem to have no morals.
Just seems so wrong to me to stalk someone like that and report every little movement at his home. Violating his privacy. Do they really need to spy on him overnight?

Not that I am excusing this behaviour, but if there was better communication in the first place, perhaps they would not need to be so nosy.

In any case, should Mandela die, what self-respecting journalist would not want to be close by? Again, not condoning it, this is just the way the system works, unfortunately.
 
I agree totally. Poor communications caused this. What bothers me that so much had to be done to effect a simple statement? Something is aloof.
Nobody has seen M’s face at all. Just someone in a bed. Why get the SANDF surgeon General involved? Maybe because he can be ordered? Why not a statement from the Mil Park sup?
We all know that the medical services in the SANDF is way below standard.
I think M has passed on, or is kept alive with machines, but is it is not political convenient at this stage to admit it. I trust I am wrong on my gut feel on this one.
 
To me it actually looks like the press is waiting for him to die so that they can be the first to report on it. Vultures seems to be a suitable description at the moment. I actually find it quite disgusting, whether it's their job or not.

Of course that is what they are doing. Why would you expect anything different?

I can understand this sentiment in itself, but it is of course an expectation not grounded in reality.
 
If the responsibility is on the SANDF to provide medical support for ex-presidents, why was he admitted to Milpark, which is a Netcare facility. 1Mil in Voortrekkerhoogte should have been the designated hospital.
Why wait so long to have a simple press statement. This is orchestrated.

Hmmmm. Interesting and plausible. Body language of spokesgoons and the reactions of family seem to point this way. So even in death he is serving the ANC.
 
This is when the press camp outside his house,hoping for the latest updates(deteriotation in his condition),so they can sensationalize it and sell more papaers.
 
Vultures or paparazzi? Both are during descriptions. Neither have morals!
 
mandela became public property basically from the time he was released from prison. never mind from when he became the first black president of this country and he became an icon, so sorry to say, but his every move be it in death even, the public will want to be notified of. the public has an interest in this man no matter what.
