Hi Everyone,
We are a smallish team of amateurs network guys looking at getting a community-run WISP started for Pretoria. I know most of you have other connections via fiber or LTE but these connections are expensive and aren't quite conducive to people that are cash strapped but still need access to affordable internet. We have acquired the interest of an ISP/WISP in Cape Town and they have started sending us equipment and offered a backbone to run our network.
Our Goals are to provide alternative access to a premium network through Wireless technology, our aims aren't just to provide local access but to provide the smaller towns and farmers access to our network. You could say, finally, someone that wants to put customers first.
We are a small team, we are looking for like-minded individuals that want to free the web through wireless. Time for a wireless revolution. We'd love to welcome everyone but for now, we are looking for anyone interested in helping build with us in their free time, most of us are working/studying to someday call this an opportunity for a stable means and help students gain the confidence they need in a working environment.
Welcomed to PM and will share our info, don't want to bend mybb rules too much. Open to any questions anyone everyone might have. We haven't launched yet but there are plans as Q1 next year with some really ground shattering offerings.
