A man was electrocuted while allegedly trying to steal overhead conductors in Pretoria West on Friday, the City of Tshwane said.

"It is suspected that this unknown person was electrocuted while trying to steal the overhead conductors," municipal spokesman Lindela Mashigo said.

His body was found on the corner of Zeiler and WF Nkomo streets.

Police were investigating.

This is terribly sad.

Someone had to start their Friday by cleaning that up.

There is a few minutes (or seconds) all depending on the voltage where the victim can actually feel what's happening, but is unable to do anything.

Not a nice experience! Been shocked more than once by 220V, not nice!

Can imagine that 380V (and higher) is not lekker... especially overhead conductors for trains.

Im going to think about this when I sip on my brandy tonight and take joy in the fact that another worthless piece of .... has been removed from this world.
