Good evening,

Okay so long story short, since about 4 this afternoon, my line is slower than it has ever been (excluding when it was down for a week...)

I am on a 10 Mbps uncapped line. The line is syncing at 7039 Kbps down, and 1021 Kbps up. I'm posting this for anyone else in the surrounding area who's also experience similar problems. I wanted to post speedtest results, but speedtest is timing out  The last tests I ran I got about 100KBps down, and less than 50KBps up.

I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact that my modem automatically updated firmware today (modem: Huawei HG532f).

Please share if you're having similar problems.

Could you run a tracert and ping test to mybroadband.co.za?
Could you also post your line stats?

Definitely, here's the tracert to mybb:

Here are the line stats:

I'm really struggling to do anything on this line, couldn't get the ping test to upload, I'll try again in a few minutes...

EDIT: Oh yeah and I know the downstream attenuation is bad, that's why I had them limit the line to 7Mbps, it was stable like this for more than 20 days. Not a single drop and speedtests were above 6Mbps consistently, until this afternoon that is.

Could you try a CrystalWeb or Afrihost free trial (the 1GB account) account to check if it's Telkom Internet?

Just a suggestion, if you use another ISP, you can bundle to a 8Mbps line instead of a 10Mbps, but you will have to move the line away from Telkom, so not a good idea if you are using Telkom as your ISP.

Didn't think of trying that, will definitely do, but it'll have to be tomorrow, have to get some sleep in now.

I was considering moving ISPs, but I know that the exact same copper will be used to connect to my residence, since I'm on the only semi-functional copper pair available, so yeah...

So I'll get back to you tomorrow, thanks for the help! :)

Hey bud, there is a serious issue at the moment, here in the east as well we all down. None existent signal on my LTE router, the outage covers Moot, Waverly, Queesnwood.

I logged an enquiry and guess what the awesome oh so generic answer was "we will will get the technical team to have a look and advise"

Hi Paul, glad to see Im not alone. Also in Queenswood and my Telkom ADSL 10MB line down since 8/9 December.
