Hi,

I'm currently using Vista and I get automatically connected to the Internet (through the LAN connection) as soon as I start Windows. I was wondering if it's possible to prevent this? I want to rather create a manual (Dial-Up) Internet connection and not be connected all the time if I don't want to be.

Thanks :)

You'd need to put your router into bridge mode. Then it will just function as a LAN switch and seperate ADSL modem.

Don't ask me how to do that... It differs from router to router, and I have no idea how to do it on mine. :p

@general_koffi: i have done that already, and am able to set my other (local) ADSL account to run as a dial-up/modem connection. but it doesn't change my default LAN internet connection.

@Garden Router: sorry but that link doesn't bring anything up. what must I search for?
