Waiting for the Arsenal match to start on SS3 and they showed highlights of the world cup, matches and scenes from the fan parks and everything that the country experienced, first played the R Kelly song, then Waka Waka and then Wave your flag and its really such a proud time to be South African yet I simply can't shake off the sadness and sorrow that we will never get close to experience such a magical, emotional, uniting event in our history.
Its all over and will never happen ever again.

Anybody else feels that when seeing this scenes on TV ?

It is sad to think that this huge event is over. We spent years looking forward to it, and now it's gone. What I do hope for though, is that SA wins the rights to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup. While not as big as the
FIFA World Cup, I just want SA to host more large scale events, plus the stadiums are alread there. We shoudl also bid to host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

I only share in the pride and elation and feel none of the sorrow. The event may have passed but the memories shall remain for a long time together with the impact the event had on those, both local and foreign, that experienced it.

I still watch footage from the 1995 Rugby World cup and feel the same emotions of pride and elation I felt when I was experiencing it... that never goes away.

I remember leaving work early on June 11 and driving home to watch the game with some guys from work. The drive home with all the hooting, flags waving, smiles on the faces of everyone you passed, vuvuzelas being blown everywhere... Awesomeness.
