Not having 1 of those around atm, I searched for a substitute. Found a tennis ball tin, the kind that used to hold 3. Fairly ancient, since they make them out of plastic nowadays [] Anyway, mounted it directly on the IPW attenna. Modem in the same place, although it looks like a mini anti-aircraft now. Figures changed as follows :
Before :
4 bars Signal 18 SNL 7 Ber 48 RSCP 92 ISCP 99
After :
4 bars Signal 25 SNL 13 Ber 71 RSCP 81 ISCP 94

Thats a pretty significant improvement.
We also hunted for a tennis ball tin a while ago to test, but could not find one.

You had a very small Interference increase which is pretty cool, hence the good BER.
Looks like the tennis can is more directional than a normal pringles.

@!%$#^@& damn dish has not yielded the results I was expecting. If I don't get better siganal tomorrow I'm gonna use it to cook an ostrich egg ommelete, with Pringles sprinkled over the top !

Now get 16% up on Primrosehill just beyond ridgeline ..... guess I was hoping for to much, if they move that antenna by 1mm down in Bedforview I'll likely get none.

Parabolic dish from Poynting, will take it outside later today to see if things ger better. I think it is 21db dish .........
