Pringles~ Smaller AND more Pricier

You guys are still buying pringles? I stopped once they hit R30. I can only imagine what they cost now.

I just slice my potatoes very thin using a metal "Chip Slicer" that I bought from a Chinese shop for R150. I then fry them in clean oil. After that it's a drop of salt/vinegar/powdered white pepper afterwards and a nice mix.

Saved me R1000's over the years- on actual healthy food. Store chips has that horrid oil smell and artificial flavors.

Back in the day I recall Pringles as being 165g cans: then they became 110g & no price drop & now this 70g move & look at the price!

R15...

PS: PnP mistakes as usual "Kellogg's Pringles" lol

PPS: The slogan "Once you pop you can't stop" is still relevant these days.

Post has aged as well, same goes for the pricing.

Jussus, 110G for R20...

How time has flew by...

I can get 2Kg of potatoes for that price and make 8 packets of 150Gr homemade chips with no "bad potato parts" that taste better than that trash - and this is with oil/electricity cost added as well.

I like that, you're basically giving us the DIY approach.

Something that should not/never be ruled out.

They don't even bother showing the prices any more. The only price shown was R22/40g can.

That's how you know you're old haha.

Get off my lawn you kids, and take these home-made chips with you!

Even blocks of cheese are getting smaller. We always bought the 1000g ones, then the 900g, then 800g, then 700g and now they are 600g.

In the case of cheese I think it’s case of having more size choices.

And I can appreciate that because in the past some sizes just don’t work for our household and there’s nothing like cheese going off for no good reason.

If you want decent Pringles then go to the UK Emporium in Milnerton for the imported ones.

Good idea. I’ll be in this week for my Yorkshire Tea top up. I’m hoping they have the catering bag of 1000 available. Last time was only the boxes of 160.
