printer help

ok so here goes

running small business server with printer installed and shared for rest of network, so i add a new printer to server share it and on some pc works great then on other its keeps on saying "you have to install print driver" once installed so i find drivers install again but it keeps spitting out the msg??? the other pc's running xp pro. any ideas????

Are u replacing an old printer or are u for the first time adding a printer?
Also check that file and printer sharing is on on the pc running winxp maybe?
Check your default printer for each computer maybe?

meaning? we have about 7 different printers, we are a copshop so we have many, each pc has a different default...

xp pc's have other printer installed that are owkring fine just the new one doesnt want to work on some???

Sorry but really don't know then.
What about service packs on the xp computers that can be why but don't know...

"meaning if u replaced an old printer with the new printer the computers will still use the old printer as a default even thought the printer is no longer there, so its not using the new printer"

Also what u can maybe try is uninstall the printer drivers on those that does not want to work and reinstall them.

yes all the pc's are running xp and the driver is the latest driver.

how do i unistall completely, deleting the printer doesnt get rid of the drivers completely..

Deleteing the printer under printers&faxes does delete it.To be sure u can even run a reg cleaner to make sure its all gone.
And try adding the printer again.
