Yeah my printer was fine until a few hours ago.

It prints the test page but not the Word documents I want to print.

It is an HP Colour Laserjet 2600n.

Actually I've just printed another document and that is fine. The word documents that I've got are textbook MCQs with answers - could they have set permissions so people can't print them? Maybe I should convert it to PDF.

Check for the Quality Control sticker from the production line - If you've got Julias Malema's stamp of approval, your printer is only going to print low res graphics.
And by "low res graphics" I mean stuff like; stick men - the basic stuff ;)
No words I'm afraid.

i've had this before as well. the Default font on Word was not supported by the printer...

Argh! Probably the printer driver is trying to do a font substitution. Good luck!
Spent days at a school sorting out printers because the litre symbol correctly would not print correctly (used a normal "l" ), which was an absolute MUST for the CAT classes/exams.
