Printer Problem - Vista X64

Hi guys,

A few days ago we had a severe storm in my area and today I found out that my Printer had actually been hit by lightning during that storm and not doesn't work at all.

However, I still need to print some documents and other members of the family will need it for school etc, so I pulled out the older, but still working Lexmark Z25 Printer.

The problem is that there are absolutely no Vista drivers for this printer at all

I have searched Lexmarks Website and they don't have and don't plan to release any Vista drivers for this printer at all. I have also read on other forums about people who have contacted Lexmark about this same problem only to be told that they can't do anything about it.

I have tried installing Vistas built in Printer drivers, and they don't work

Does anyone have a solution or any ideas I could try to get this printer working without having to buy a new one yet, or do a complete O/S install.

nope lexmark are the worst at not procuding drivers for vista on old printers

dont ever buy lexmark

does not help you now but in future dont support them

go buy a new printer, u can pick a samsung laser printer for under 600 bucks and a cheap inkjet for under 400 bucks

you need to replace the old printer dont you?

you will have to load xp if you dont wanna spend the extra dosh

Ok then, Thanks for the help.

I'll see how much insurance will pay out for some cheap printer being hit by lightning (gotta replace a router and PC motherboard as well)

Otherwise I guess its off to the shops for a new one

yea its a pity but lexmark suck as a company almost as badly as their printers suck at being printers
