Printing quota/username

Hi all

Looking for software that can be used to manage using a printer on a network. Basically the idea of selling tickets that allow a user to print an X-number of pages.

Either enter a password when printing, or I could also couple it with a username using Active Directory. New username for every "quota" sold.

I know there are many paid-for solutions out there, but this is for a school where money is always a little tight. Are there any free options out there? Some of the free versions of paid-for software are just too limited. I need this to work across 25-30 computers sharing one printer.

Currently running Windows 10 Enterprise on all the workstations (including the one which currently shares the printer) and a server with Windows Server 2008.

Any suggestions?

Papercut NG?

One of the paid-for solutions I looked at. Free version only allows for 5 users apparently. The versions where more users are allowed are very expensive....according to the website the next level 500 users is $515....

Search for printer peer - it could do this. When company went under or whatever, they made the software free. Printer peer 5

Ahhh...sorry. I assumed the NG version was for mahala as that's one I used to implement at a school I helped out at. I have no idea where they got a license but I believe it was DOE sponsored
