Prioritising ports for Steam

I want to prioritise Steam gaming ports (UDP 27000 to 28999) in the QoS settings of my router (Billion 800VGT).

So, source ports should be set to 27000-28999; what about the destination port?
Should DSCP marking be changed/enabled for this?

Will this improve in-game ping while other pcs on the network are downloading/browsing, etc?

EDIT: what should my settings be to optimize ingame ping?

If I'm not mistaken those should be destination ports as you are probably being PAT'd to get out of your home network.

PAT'd?

PAT = "Port Adress Translation" and no these are destination NAT's but not to Steam's servers. This is the destination ports for Steam's server to connect back to you (remember back in the day of MW2 of having you NAT as "OPEN" for the P2P server setup?), this is pretty much the same thing". The required ports for Steam according to their site is as follow:

Steam Client
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive (Game client traffic)
UDP 27015 to 27030 inclusive (Typically Matchmaking and HLTV)
TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads)
UDP 4380

Your Destination ports, and not necessary to add a NAT if you do not block these ports on your firewall (and I dont see why) is:

Steamworks P2P Networking and Steam Voice Chat
UDP 3478 (Outbound)
UDP 4379 (Outbound)
UDP 4380 (Outbound)

Lastly DSCP marking will only help if you have QoS or a policy map set up to prioritize traffic marked with DSCP bits in the header. I personally run a Cisco router at home and this works great and does reduces latency as my gaming traffic gets priority above all other traffic. I have tried QoS on cheaper consumer grade equipment such as Billions, Netgears and D-Links and to be honest they didn't do the job at all. The NAT's are advisable and you will need to test the QoS with the Billion to know for sure.
