I have a private APN with Vodacom and run 3G router data traffic via this APN. It works well.

I also have LTE data routers, but these connect with the public Vodacom Internet APN. These also work well.

Although I can establish an rf link to the Vodacom LTE system when using the SIMs supplied for my private APN, no data is transferred via the Vodacom network. I understand that the 3G and the LTE are two different systems and assume that one would need to ask Vodacom to enable the private APN for LTE traffic.

Does this sound right ?
Is the ability for the private APN to transmit data via the Vodacom network simply a configuration issue that will allow LTE traffic ?

As far as I know (Or at least applies to the company where I work) you will pay more if you want to use LTE on a private APN with Vodacom. Other ISP's private APN's cost the same on 3G and LTE, not sure why Vodacom wants to charge more per MB when on LTE vs 3G.
We are moving to a Telkom Private APN which costs less than half of what Vodacom charges at the moment. And LTE is not an extra cost either

Thank you for the confirmation. We have an agent administrating the APN, billing, SIMs, etc, and I will speak with them regarding the LTE activation within Vodacom.

Our rep is not managing to make contact with Vodacom to facilitate this addition of the LTE to the APN. Does anyone have any Vodacom contacts with whom we can enquire directly as to what needs to be done, how much, etc. i.e. to add the LTE to our 3G APN?
