Private Wire and X21

Have a crisis at work Telkom keep asking me what X21 lines i have and do i have any Private wire lines ??? WTF is that not a lease line ??

whats the diffrence ??

yeah did but it dident help it just says that it uses a x21 connector
and pushes out 9600Kbps to mac of 2mbit line ?? cant be adsl but then again what is private wire ?? that must be lease line

Have a look at your NTU (little white box that the Telkom line comes in on). It should have a circuit number which you can give Telkom. The NTU would normally connect to your router using a X.21 cable.

A private line is usually a leased analog circuit between two end points. It's like a phone line but you cannot "dial" on it, it has a two fixed end points so could be seen as a long pice of copper inside a building or between two different exchanges anywhere in the country.
