I get a call from an unknown landline number this morning. Since i am expecting a call from a few suppliers i reached out to over the weekend I answer.

The lady starts talking about the NCR, but the call gets cut after about 5 seconds.

The i get an sms:
I, (My name and surname), ID (my ID number), gave consent to request my credit report on 2026-03-09. Reason: Affordability Assessment. Pro Debt Solutions.

I offered no such consent. A little googling and these guys are full kak:

That's F-up, so if you find yourself under debt review. You know why.

I’m sure there is a few other threads about these guys or a similar scam.

I got a similar call, can't remember the company name. They started by telling me I was being overcharged on my account repayments. At the time was interested to see which accounts they were referring to. Then they tell me they can reduce my credit card (which I pay in full every month) and bond repayments by something like 60% and I was immediately suspicious and declined.

I get the same sh%t from debt busters AKA Sanlam

Did those guys also sent an SMS claiming you provided consent?

No, I checked and didn't get an sms but they did ask to access my credit report and I stupidly said yes. Been monitoring things since then and everything seems okay.
