Over the past few days I have not been able to access certain sites -
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/global/ is one. I just get a blank page in Firefox 1.5.0.6. IE 6 displays a "page cannot be displayed" message.

The MTU is set at 1352 on my wireless router - when I change the Firefox connection type to use a proxy server at the office (via VPN) I can access the Times site just fine. Ditto with IE. The office has a Telkom ADSL connection.

Is anyone else experiencing this behaviour? Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Many thanks.
M.

Yeah, also just tried that link out and it seems dead.

I have been having a few problems getting out onto www.tomshardware.com also give the same errors as Mashu is getting :(

If anybody at iBurst is listening, pls sort this out...

No problem with both the sites useing FF beta2

Thanks for the feedback - it could be a regional thing. mic_y, who reports the same problem, is also in Johannesburg.

I have the same problem going to www.theregister.co.uk - FF just stops loading the page. I thought it was just me :-P ... I am getting more and more angry with this kuk tho.

Tested on ADSL and sentech, the sites are DEFINITELY online!

I am using the Benoni Tower

UPDATE : If you point the browser at a proxy, those sites work.

Service is the name of the game.At the end of the month I will make a decision between I burst and 512 DSL.At the momement Iburst is sadly lacking. They do not respond to the forums perhaps they see themseves as the only alternative supplier to Telscum. So be it but market share is important.

Well no one else responds on the forums, the fact that they do in some cases is a plus. You think you will ever get help if you get ADSL?

But atm they are sort of stagnant, they used to announce new developments every week, I hope its stopped becasue they are gearing up for something big like they said.

I already have ADSL as well.Iburst has until the end of the month at which time a choice must be made.Non response does not work if I had to buy a new router it would be a billion. The billion tech is in action untill 11.30pm.That is promotion.Maybe i will keep Iburst and go pay as you go on the other ISp.It ts not a foregone conclusion yet.
