The strangest thing.. I thought by reconfiguring my connection my problem will be solved. My browser open, but it is blank. In my computer task bar it shows I'm connected, but I cant log on to anything. Everything I open is blank.

With the diagnostic section, I get a message adsl can't sinc. What does that mean? The possible causes they give is that or my adsl line isnt plugged in properly. It definitely is, reason being that I got another desktop running from same modem (marconi premium combo adsl wireless) and this laptop wireless. The difference between the two desktops is only the one is on a Ethernet cable (?) and the problem one on usb. Could the router be faulty only on the usb port? If so, how do I find out?

Anybody with any ideas.. please!

I don't really understand your initial post to be honest, that's why I gave you the cold shoulder.

Do you have a usb modem and a router connected to one line? If you do, it won't work, easy as that.

Ah a victim!!

No.. I have a marconi premium combo adsl wireless router.. I got 3 computers connected to it. One a laptop, wireless that work fine.. and two desktops... the one is connected via ethernet (?) (looks like a telephone line connection thingy, just slightly bigger) but it works fine... The last one is a desktop.. connected to said router via usb.. that is the problem.. Like i said the strangest thing.. It say in the task bar I'm connected but everything is blank.. All open (browser ext) but there is nothing in the page..

When I tried to reconfigure my connection the diagnostic say adsl can't sinc.. What does it mean? Have you got any idea what could be wrong?

To be honest, I have no idea.

So this router connects wirelessly, ethernet and usb? Talk about multitasking. Can't you just connect the other desktop to it via ethernet as well?

ADSL can't sync is when your router doesn't sync with the exchange, but I'm not sure if this is in your router diagnostics or where?

If your router doesn't sync to the exchange it could be a setting or a problem on the line ;)

Yes, the router does all three and has done all three successfully for some time. I don't know.. Can I connect the second desktop also ethernet? There is certainly place to plug it in..

I don't understand "exchange".. Who or what is exchange? Telkom? Can it still be a problem on the line if the other two works perfectly? Settings like were?

ADSL can't sinc I got when I tried to reconfigure the connection itself with the setup program i downloaded. I don't know if it is on the router itself..

To make things easier on you, connect all the pc's with the ethernet cables, then all your computers could be set up to network with each other as well, I'll help you with that if you need help.

Don't bother connecting the router via USB. Just use wireless and Ethernet ;)

The exchange is telkom yes ;)

Thank you.. I will need to get another ethernet cable in the morning..

I will let you know after that if I going to need help or not.

Much appreciated! :)

Pleasure man ;) See you tomorrow :p

Sorted. :D Long story short, it ended up being a winsock (?) file problem. A file on my desktop itself that didn't work properly. It allows the computer to communicate with other programs.

Thank you for your time. Right now I got a information overload, but in the future I just might decide to try let the lot communicate with each other!

I think.. Maybe.. Who knows?
