Hi,

My wireless network at home has two pc's connected to it, one XP laptop and one Vista Laptop.

My brother wants to connect to it with his XP pc (HP, Intel Wireless card).

I can see the network on the pc, however when i click to connect to it, XP flat out refuses to connect (not even asking for the network key) "Windows cannot connect to the specified network" or some message similar to that.

I have no idea what could be the problem.

Please can you assist?

Install LLTD on the XP machines... worked for me. Google it... you can download from the Microsoft site (small file).

Thanks, will try that and see what happends.

Had this problem before, manually add it in advanced settings, sometimes windowz is confuse himself...

It sounds like you should use the connection utility that came with his card to connect and not the XP connect. Also, if you're not broadcasting your network name, you might have to tell it what to connect to. Have you got encryption on the network? You might need to tell the utility how to connect.
