Hi AGAIN,

When I try to connect to the net, iBurst keeps telling me that it could not connect cos my username or password is incorrect. This happens about 10 to 15 times before I eventually get a connection. (I have saved my password in the dial-up box so it IS correct).

Any tips on how to fix this?

valorian,

the only time i had that issue was with the pcmcia card, and then only because of bad signal quality (even though it said 100% signal), what are you using?

Are you just using the username or are you adding @wbs.co.za to the end...I had the same problem until I addes the wbs bit.

It seems if you dont have a good signal the authentication times out and the dailup on your side interprets it as a wrong username password. Not much you can do about it except trying to get better reception.

Dialup shouldn't say username/password incorrect if it times out because of signal. Being at 60%, he shouldn't have that problem

I didn't argue that it DIDNT do it. I'm just saying it SHOULDNT. Usually it will give you a "phone line is busy" error or a "ppoe link could not be established"

Guys,

This is site is really awesome! You guys helped me sort out two issues I've been trying to figure since Fri last week! Thanks a mil.

I added the "@wbs.co.za" to my username and it worked first time around. And still works like a charm.

I found a big improvement in speed when I changed from USB to Ethernet.

I can only think that my USB hub is/was poorly configured, because theoretically there should be no speed difference the USB and ethernet.

There's also a (remote) possibility you were being bounced to a different, more distant, base station when using the wrong log-in name. Which might also explain the amount of time it took you to successfully log on.

Nope . I have been doing some research and according to them u can use you login accross UTD/C's as long as you only have one login at a time .
