Hi
ive just bought a huawei e220 usb modem from vodacom and am able to connect to vodacom perfectly.
i am having hassels connecting to virgin mobile with this device.
its telling me "you have to be on the vodafone network to make a data connection"

Ive tried an mtn(apn:mtnvpn) and virgin mobile simcard(apn:vdata)
i can connect via my n70 to both these apn's so its definately a device thing.

now i know these devices are supposed to be unlocked.
any help appreciated.

Is this resolved? Is it a Vodafone or Vodacom unit? My Vodacom E220 works fine.

Applemac?

Hi

I noticed this message on my applemac with the vodafone software. However now I just use a script - is your laptop a mac?

Otherwise make sure your network setting is set to automatic - ie when your dashboard starts and detects network, it must say Virgin.

Am new on this forum, please help.
I bought an E220 USB modem, I upgraded it so that it works on my Windows Vista Laptop, alas, It tells me to be connected to Vodafone. Am on MTN, I cant even connect to my Win XP laptop anymore. How do I solve this problem

Um.... gonna be a pest,
there is a Virgin Mobile section.
b@ndit you have posted in the Cell C section.

Regards

Heh

Virgin is Cell-C with a re-branding.

In fact with my sim card in my iphone it says "Cell-C" as the operator :)

And in my experience i only successfuly got to get my e220 online with Virgin after loading the Huawei software, which by the way is only 10000 times more stable and configurable than that rubbish vodafone shipped on the device.
