Yesterday I bought for my aunt a wired netgear modem & router for home adsl setup. Telkom side done, service provider (Mweb) done, account converted. Tried to get onto router form aunt's pc (1,5 years old), can see router and first part of netgear logo comes up, then just crawls. Took 35 mins to load first menu!!
Took router to Duxbury to check it, they did the setup for me no probs. Could see all menus etc, quick as you'd expect. Took router back to aunt's pc, connected it up could see mweb and they could see me logging in but it's crawling along and unable to load even google graphic - can see text. But so slow.
Help please - I'm not such a technocrat and don't know what to try next. It was suggested that the network card could be problematic? It's a VIA Rhine II fast ethernet - noted that the driver is dated 2004. Her pc does not have wireless therefore bought wired.
