I'm trying to set up email on a Storm 9500 for a client, over MTN for his Gmail account.

When I try and run the email setup, I get told the device is not registered. When I register the device, I get an SMS saying the device has been registered, but when I try the email setup again, even after a restart, I get told the device is not registered.

Any ideas or suggestions as what is wrong, or what am I doing wrong?

have u activated bis?

How do I do that? The web site tells me I have to use the device, and the device tells me I have to register?

Is there somewhere on the device Ii can "activate bis"?

u need to fone the cell network and they will activate it on the network

I did call the network, and they told me I had to activate it on the phone.

To confirm if BIS/BES is active, look at the signal meter.IF GPRS,EDGE or 3G are in Capital letters. This means the BB service is active. If its in lower case, its not active.

I had a similar problem with VC a few months back when I moved my BIS from one contract to another. Turned out that the carrier had the incorrect device pin on their system.
