I need some assistance with setting up file sharing between Windows 7 and Windows 10 PC's. Please bear in mind I'm not in the IT industry and not so clued up with these sort of things...

We have three PC's at home, two are running Windows 7, and the other one Windows 10. All three PC's are connected to a wireless router.

If I click on Network under My Computer on any of the Win 7 PC's, I can see all of the PC's there, including the Win 10 PC, even the external hard drive plugged into the Win 10 PC, and access any shared folders.

The Win 10 PC on the other hand, cannot see the two Win 7 PC's at all. I've googled a bit and checked settings, tried a few solutions, none of them solved the problem.

Yes I know it is 2020 and there are things like clouds, email, USB drives etc. but if it is possible to make the above work, it would help a lot. Does anyone perhaps know how to solve the problem?

Have you done the basics like setting the network profile to private and checking that network discovery is turned on?

I've had a problem like this before, which was solved by the SMB 1.0 protocol fix (it was quite a while ago, so not 100% sure if it was the exact same steps as listed here)- apparently not the safest thing to do but it worked for me.
Network Computers are not Showing Up in Windows 10

Yes to your question and thank you for the link, I will try it out

The SMB 1.0 protocol fix did the job, thank you so much for your assistance @SykomantiS
You don't want that enabled, it's been disabled since before 2016 due to security concerns, and e.g. wannacry uses it as an exploit.
Stop running Windows 7, especially if it's connected to a network, there haven't been any security updates in 8 months now. Upgrade to Windows 10 and get a key from e.g. @Flashgear

If Microsoft feels it's a security problem then they should remove that feature from their OS .... It's like having an AC in my car but I may not switch it on WTF? ... Most Win10 user are happy to have that enabled just to get their network shares to function like it should .... and yes it even helps to see computer shares between Win10 PC's  ;)

PS: this guy has a 1-click fix, but it's not free ... basically does everything in post #2 in one go
