Hey there,

I'm starting to pull my hair out here and am hoping that someonne can maybe help me...

I have been unable to play facebook flash games for nearly a month now, started around April 27th the game page opens but the games just get stuck on the loading screens...

It's happening on Farmville (loads fully but unplayable), Cafe World (sits on loading screen forever), Empires and Allies (loads fully but unplayable), Gourmet Ranch (sits on loading screen forever)

Only FB game that seems to work is Backyard Monsters which loads and plays fine.

I have contacted Zynga and they claim nothing wrong, I have spoken to mweb and they cannot re-produce the error.

I have tried on two different pc's, same issue.
I have tried two different connections (ADSL and 3G), same issue
I have reformatted and reinstalled windows a total of 4 times now, same issue
I have tried flash 10.0, 10.2 and 10.3, same issue
I have turned off both the windows and router firewalls, same issue
I have wiped and reset my router's settings, same issue
I have tried IE 8, IE 9, Chrome & FireFox, same issue

From what I can see on my bandwidth monitor, the game starts loading and then the connection that its pulling data on just dies before the game is loaded, in the cases where the game does load, it loads but then you cannot play because the game loses connection to the server and you're forced to reload, which just takes you back to the same place...

You need to tell us your secrete. I'm sure we'd all love to know how to disable those facebook games.

+100000000

If I could write a virus that does that I can guarantee people will actually buy it from me.

Take you PC round to a friend's place that the games are working on. If it works on his network then its your PC, if not then its Mweb.

I went to my friend's place today, jacked into the router and tried Cafe World... nada

Got home, formatted the drive, installed windows 7 again, and as soon as i saw the desktop, i installed flash and tried cafe... nada

I just dunno anymore...

Hey Hey, I just tried it out now on my 3G card and it works!!! WOW!

Remoted into my home pc and I'm now getting "connection has been reset" messages... so I guess that's some kinda progress...

Will uninstall vuurjakkals and re-install that and flash and see if it works...

Well you picked the right forum nick. I wouldn't go through that much pain for a flash game (any game for that matter).

Ok, new power supply, new windows installation and still nada...

My laptop seems to play the games fine on the same connection...

Is there a app or site i can use to test my network connectivity and settings?

Ok here's where things get mighty freaky...

So today it was fiddling with my router settings and something went a little wonky, so I did a hard reset on the router and set it up again...

And now everything works... WTF!?!?!?
