I am having a problem with Internet Explorer on my Windows XP PC. When it opens a panel opens on the left that says:

Error: the requested URL could not be retrieved. While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.mypuresearch.com. The cache did not receive any data for the request.

But on the right it searches fine. How can I get rid of this view. I have tried everything. I was on IE7. So I upgraded to 8, but that didnt resolve it. I disabled all the addons I did not need.

I deleted the browser history and cache settings.

Everything works fine in other browsers like Chrome and Firefox. Its just IE

Any help will be much appreciated.

Next up a malware scan.....

Gogo Hijackthis, sounds like a Browser Hijack (BHO)

OK, so a malware scan will hopefully sort this out? I'm gonna use malwarebytes. Always have good results with that.

Yeah there is a big problem with Internet explorer, it is "Internet explorer" only good for downloading firefox, and it ain't great at that :D

Use the Chrome browser the best around.

This does not help the OP he wants help with Internet Explorer, he doesn't need you to tell him to use a different browser.

To the OP download, install and update either or both of these programs, then run full scans on your Pc:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.51.2
SuperAntiSpyware 5.0.1134

You most likely have an infection on your Pc, after running both programs and removing anything they find, if you still have the problem go to Tools, Options then under Home Page put in your desired home page.

Good luck :)

Hehe. Yes, I won't say anything but rather don't use any version of Internet Explorer. There are plenty of other browsers out there that are way better - Firefox (most popular), Google Chrome (quickest and my fav) and Opera (nice UI) are the mainstream ones. You can't go wrong with either Chrome or Firefox.
