Problem with keypad operated menus over VOIP

A few months ago our office switched over from Telkom to Vox VOIP phone lines. Ever since, when we call out to a place that requires callers to put in numbers to get through menus, we have been unable to operate them - the menu system doesn't seem to hear when numbers are pressed. Vox say it isn't their problem, and the switchboard technician says that it isn't the PBX, and we sit in the middle tearing our hair out.

Has anyone else run into something like this and found a solution ?

Setting on your PBX, if it is Asterisk based, get your technician to look at the trunk's peer details for "dtmfmode". If it is not there, then add it. Test with either:
Code:
dtmfmode=rfc2833
or
Code:
dtmfmode=info
Read more about dtmfmode here: voip-info.org

Thanks. The PBX is Samsung unfortunately, but I'll ask them to check for the equivalent setting.

Do you have the problem with all destinations? I had DTMF issues with certain numbers only, and my SIP provider was able to trace the problem further upstream.
