has anybody else experienced problems with michelin tyres? i had problems since around 900km there were vibrations on the steering and car, tyre also developed a lump on side wall..according to michelin they said i knocked something...do they think we buy expensive cars like a BMW to knock stuff?
Anyway i did a bit of investigating and found out at a BMW outlet that there were quiet a bit of their clients that had problems with michelin tyres that were fitted on their BMW's, and Michelin was told about it and they did replace a few of them but not all, cos according to michelin there were no problems. So my advice is when buying a car such as a BMW or Merc please do not accept michelin tyres you will regret it better go for bridgestone like i did and enjoy the ride.

I've got sport Michelins on the Merc.... haven't had any issues hey... and this on about 80'000km....
Same goes for our other car - had Michelins on for 90'000km before I replaced them for general wear and tear...

I think Michelins are very good.
Had a similar problem with Firestone. Went to a place "Auto-quip", they balance the tires and gone were my problem. Had It balance about 10 times at other places.

Yeah our BMW has runflats on and we can't afford to take it on holiday....
For example, took the Merc on holiday, hit a stone, got a snakebite - you can't fix it... so had to swop tyres.

Obviously a runflat is very unlikely to get a snakebite, it's actually close to impossible, but if you get a severe enough tyre issue, you're screwed...

Weirdo.....just because u drive a BMW doesnt mean its impossible to bump the tyre...........so u imply that u never had an accident before???

Anyway michelins are great. I had bridgestone runflats on my e90 and it had terrible handling and ride.....changed to michelins and its as if i had a new car.
Also got 80000 kms with michelins on my audi a3

i had Michelin Pilot Primacy 225/45/17s fitted OEM to my car but i hated them from day one.
the grip and comfort was terrible... i didn't have any confidence in the car.

fitted new takkies last weekend... Pirelli P Zero Rossos and the difference is huge. These are the MO version... Mercedes Original.. i read these are one's fitted standard to Mercs now.
