Problem with msn messenger connection

HI~!

Help needed for connecting Msn messenger. the problem is funny because when i use the older version of msn messenger it worked perfectly fine but once i update it it just wont connect!! i tried emailing and requesting help from microsoft and they gave my solutions that didnt work.

i tried the tcp and http proxy settings, none of them works... and gave me error codes.


please help!

MSN v7.0.0813 works fine with my connection. Both on my laptop, using a wired & wireless lan to my pc, and on my pc.

What firewall you using ?

hi, i am nt using any firewall but the one with winXP.

its very wierd becz the msn 7.0 before this latest one works perfectly fine but not the latest one.

Try reinstalling it. Also, make sure your windows firewall isnt blocking it. If you havent installed XP SP2, then do that sometime soon as well.

i have reinstall it for dozens of times n its not working.. also when i install sp 2 ie couldnt open any webpages... so it made the pb worst... n i had to unintsall sp2.

you need SP2 installed. Check the MTU on your machine, change the value to 1458 or 576 or which ever value in between that gives you the best results. Also, run a spyware scan and make sure nothing is preventing IE and MS products from connecting. You could also try a different browser, Firefox or Deer Park

MSN Beta 8

I am having the same problem with MNS Beta 8.

It works fine on adsl and dial up but not on Sentech.

This problem with connecting to MSN is something I'm seeing more and more often now ..1st via ISDSL, where using a smaller MTU fixed it, then just recently on a bud's WRT54GL ..where using a smaller MTU fixed it too. What d'you think are the odds of at least trying a smaller MTU will fix this too? Oh, sorta related: last night I flashed a PSP to the latest firmware 'n it took several tries 'cos it kept dying on me ..wanna guess what I did to my router to finally get the dl to work?

also got regular issues with messenger, but i found that rebooting my modem often does the trick. I'm sure it's a sentech issue and not necessarily a messenger one.

try lowering your security/privacy settings in IE - had the same problem with hotmail after SP2

i had trouble with msn to . it all ways shows my contacts are offline when they are realy online . so u had to delete the contact and put it back on again then he whould be online again . u can imagin what a mission that its any way the sulotion to the problim was that msn does not like u using sentech email adress try change your email adress to hotmail or some other free email client . once i changed to hotmail every thing was running better than befor have not had a problim since well i hope this helps some one rock on guys
