Hey

Recently my htpc was just been randomly rebooting and getting stuck on windows repair screen. All I do is switch off the pc and switch it back on and it starts up fine.

I think it has too do with the hard drives and losing power but not sure. I will list my build to see maybe that the power supply isn't good enough?

Intel Desktop Board DG31PR
Intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.4ghz / 8m / 1066 / 05A
Lite-on iHAS524-T32 B
Asus Xonar DG
SATA expansion card
MSI N520GT
2 x 2GB 800MHz RAM
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 160 Gigs (Boot Drive)
2 x Samsung 2TB
2 x Samsung 1.5TB
Delta Electronics Power Supply (Peak 300W, Rated 250W)

I'm not sure of exact specs to power supply ratios, but from my limited knowledge that seems waay underpowered. 250/300W PSUs are used for entry-level/workstation PCs - none with multiple hard drives, discrete gfx cards, quad core, etc.

Even with those drives, he's probably pulling around 160W on full tilt. The random reboots might be faulty RAM, so fiddle around with the sticks and see if you can consistently boot with either module on its own, or both swapped around in their slots.

ok so i stripped the machine.. cleaned and reassembled and thus far it hasn't down its random reboot into windows repair mode
