I have an LG1917s Flatron monitor

The screen seems to have a power issue. When I plug in the power chord the green power light flashes anywhere between once and seven time (different every time) and then completely loses power. Immediately removing the power chord and plugging it in does not have the same result and instead of the light reappearing there is no reaction at all. To replicate the light flashing requires removing the power chord and waiting several minutes. Pushing the power button at any time has no effect (Yes while the cable is plugged in). Leaving the power cable in over night has no effect. I have tried a different power chord, no change. I have also tested the monitor on a different plug. The problem first appeared after unplugging the monitor to move it, after pluging it back in the problem first occured. At first after several tries (8-10 attempts) of removing and reinserting the power chord the monitor eventually started up. I have been unable to get the monitor to power up properly since that one occasion.

My guess would be the caps are on their way out? Any other ideas?
