Hi,

i was jamming sacred 2 and crysis 2 and after about an hour or so the monitors get no input. They just go black tried on my tv and my monitor but i can leave windows on all night. i would think its heat but the card isn't overclocked and i've only got the one card:confused::confused:

Well the 4850's suffer from heat problems, mostly cause by poor airflow in a box, if you do not have suffient cooling for the 4850 you will get heat problems. try an aftermarket cooler or getting better cooling in your box.

I have taken my side panel off if that would help at all ? any suggestions on cooling options ?

Keep the side panel open and use a regular fan to blow some cooler air in there. If your performance gets better then you know you have a heating issue.

Pointless to go buy a cooler if overheating isn't really the problem (although it does sound like it)

Try getting the artic twin turbo cooler from Itai (digital addiction). A couple of us here can vouch for it's performance

No. Taking side panel off actually worsen it. Think of how your case was designed in terms of airflow. With the side panel off there is NO airflow, what I have had success with though is taking the side panel off and putting a HUGE normal air fan there and it seemed to help me when my 79gt was giving trouble. What cooling do you have atm? Also, what resolution is your 42" playing crysis at? 1920x1080?
