Problem with new xbox, please help

Need some advice please.

I got a new Xbox yesterday. Did the setup and all went well. I connected it to the internet via standard LAN cable cable straight into my ADSL router. I could connect to XBL with no problem and play online.

Then I tried the WiFi out to see how it performs while playing online.

I decided to plug the network cable back in and that's where the problem started. Now I struggle to connect to XBL and my downloads also don't want to work properly :cry: I keep on getting errors "Some Xbox live content is temporarily unavailable"

Can any give some advice? i did restart router etc a couple of times, could it be a NAT issue and how do I fix it?? :(

Not sure but a lot of people have complained over the last 10 days about messages saying certain content is not available. If you can still play online it means it's a problem with XBL and not your system.
 
i have not been on xbl for a few days buts its probably a issue with the service, maintenance or something.
 
Yeah it's a general issue, I've been getting the same message over the past week or so.
 
It must be a general issues, because if I test my network connection to XBL all three tests pass and shows connected....problem is the missing dashboard content and I can't connect to the COD Black Ops game servers to play online then...
 
well here is a cool trick if you think the problem might lay with the console, this is not me suggesting it as but keep this code save

what this does it resets every single setting on your console to default its a hard reset so will reset your hdd and format it

go to settings -----> system info while it displays all the info do the following on your control

LT + RT + X + Y + LB + RB + UP + Y + Y + X

+ meaning "then" doesnt mean all at once cause i think you might run short of fingers to push with

had a console this weekend with a password on and it even removes that
 
I have also been getting the same message for the last week. I think that it has something to do with the dedicated servers that were installed for Gears 3.

I also get the xbox live error message.
Definately maintenance related as there were talks of the marketplace getting updated.

I am in the habbit of adding south africans as friends on my xbox live account.
You can see which games the guys have played and are playing.
 
Hey guys, have these issues been resolved yet, gonna get me a gold membership end of the month. But fist want to know if it's worth is. Getting the membership to reconnect with "Jacinto"...know what I mean?

I was unable to recover my gamertag last night :cry: But i did create a new one and activate gold on it and everything seems fine now....just have to start from square one with everything, back to level 1 in black ops :cry: but at least I can connect and play :)
