When I try and use Nokia PC Suite to connect to the internet, it doesn't detect any Bluetooth modem devices. When I connect and pair to the phone, it goes through a long process it describes as "Installing the Bluetooth modem".

Everything else works 100% over Bluetooth, and when the One Touch Access applet starts up, the window caption shows "Connected to Brady 2760", but it still doesn't find any Bluetooth devices.

The phone itself has no problem connecting to the internet, and I have used it via Bluetooth before to connect to the internet, but that was on Vista and Windows 7 machines. Now I'm running XP SP3 on an HP Pavilion which I battled to get XP drivers for, and found an HP support forum post that directed me to use the XP drivers for a different model. There are no official XP drivers for my model, only Vista drivers.

Does anyone know anything I can do about this problem? I'm going to Nkomati mine, near Machadadorp in the week and need an MTN connection there.

Check in the OTA app if it is setup for the correct network. The OTA application defines the APN everytime you dial so you need to have it setup for your network.

Are you using the latest version of PC Suite or the one that came on the CD with the phone ? You can get the latest PC Suite on http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite

I can't get past the settings screen that asks me to select a modem, which I assume comes before the network selection screen.

The latest, and double checked by re-installing.

Yeah, the modem screen comes before the network screen.

What if you just setup a new dial up connection manually, does that work ?
In windows just make a new connection and tell it to dial *99#

I use my old 2630 as BT modem and it works like a dream.
