Hi guys. Im a premium dstv subscriber. I've got HD PVR with extra view. For the past week or so I noticed that Mnet (101) and some of the movie channels arent working. I only get a black screen with programme info bar. I've checked all the cables and everything is screwed in tight at the back of the decoder as well as the splitter. What else can the problem be??? Please help.

Thanks.

Can it be that the LNB need slight adjustment (to those knowing)? First contact Dstv on 0317102222 before going to any trouble. They can reset, or something like that, the channels.

I'm in cape town. Will pop in to the walk in centre later and take my decoder with.

IS=s the other decoder experiencing the same problems? if so then check the LNB if the other decoder is working fine then its most likely the multiswitch. I had this problem and so did a friend of mine it was our multiswitches

+1 for checking the LNB. Do you know if you have a single or duble LNB i.e. is/are there 1 or 2 cables coming out of the LNB to your splitter?
I had to change my mom's one a number of months ago for a new one as she also had some channels with only the info bar - once replaced it was fine again.
If you go into the menu then check the signal and quality bars - what are they both showing for each tuner?

Definitely installation related. I'm guessing the other decoder plays the channels, but this is because the SD gets MNet and MM from vertical frequencies, while the PVR gets the HD simulcast from horizontal frequencies. You'll probably see that a channel like Animal Planet does not play on either.

Check what happens when you swop the two input cables of the multiswitch and report back.

Hi i managed to swop the lnb cables around and all channels on the primary hd pvr decoder is working.Only problem now is the secondary decoder. No horizontal channels on the secondary decoder working it seems.

You guys think it could be the multiswitch that packed up??

Need help with channel 117 ,112,121,125,135and 136 it says no signal

Had this same problem. I recall 117 and 112 and a couple of other channels had no signal. Was told it was the LNB, but ended up replacing the dish seeing as it was almost the same price as the repair.
