Hi,

got a 'directors cut' blu-ray of T. Salvation yesterday. Get home all excited to watch. Put it in the player(Samsung BD-P1600). First, it takes about 2 minutes for the loading bar to reach the end, then, blank screen. Tried it a few more times then gave up.

Took it to the LG blu-ray player in my room. Here the loading part goes quickly, the intro comes up, the menu appears. But i cannot 'click' on play. The remote does not move between 'play' 'scenes' etc. but works in other places.

Does anyone else have this disc, preferably the 'directors cut' ? Is it giving anyone else problems?

Thanks

Ive just dloaded a software update for the Samsung player, which I will try tonight.

I got a feeling of deja vu when I read this.Same player same movie same experience.Hired mine from blockbusters and they refused to give me refund/credit on the title.I never had a problem with any other movie before and after this.
I took it in for a firmware upgrade after this probllem but never tested it again.

I also had a similar problem with the new Robin Hood movie, that was hired so i just took it back, but the T. Salvation I bought & I really want the movie, so i will see if it plays after the update

PM'd you for firmware details.Let's me know how it goes after update.

Your blu ray player is trying to save you from a terrible movie, but seriously i played it on my ps3 and it played fine, it has to be the firmware i would think

I had the same problem last year with Terminator Salvation, on my Philips BDP 3000, but a firmware update fixed it.

Yep, firmware update sorted it. Thanks guys.
And i actually enjoyed this movie! Better than the previous. I love war kind of movies. My bd collection includes the kingdom, behind enemy lines, black hawk down. Still need to get hurt locker and green zone!

I wouldn't bother with either of those. Very disappointing movies.

Hurt Locker was good, green zone was not!.

I would recommend saving private ryan(IMO best war movie ever) and although its not a movie, the band of brothers blu ray collection is quality

Go to this link.
Click on 'Firmware'
Download the zip file, either for USB or CD (i did the USB type)
extract the *.ruf file & copy it to a clean flash drive
Download the instruction pdf file on the same page

Takes 15 minutes & u must do the process twice as in the how-to instructions.

Best war film is Full Metal Jacket, IMHO :)

@rands.Thanks a stack man.
I'd put Apocalypse Now and Platoon up there with FMJ as well.

Platoon?
Full metal jacket?
before my time im afraid, I prefer the modern types. I loved the scene in Transformers 1 where the scorpion attacked the soldiers, that kind of war movies :) not WW2 or Vietnam.
